2014 World Golf Championships – Cadillac Championship Yahoo Picks

I’m sorry I didn’t have time to put together a past performance chart this week.  It’s been a bit hectic.

Here are my picks this week:

A Group

Bubba Watson and Adam Scott

B Group

Rory McIlroy, Steve Stricker, Duston Johnson, and Justin Rose. (Taking a bit of a chance with Rose.)

C Group

Sergio Garcia and Harris English.

Good luck!

2014 Northern Trust Open Yahoo Picks

Another set of difficult choices this week.  I’m still vacillating between a few options.  Here are my picks as they stand at this point:

A Group

Matt Kuchar and Ryan Moore

B Group

Graham Delaet, Hunter Mahan, Bill Haas, and Webb Simpson

C Group

Charl Schwartzel and Jimmy Walker

I still may change this line up.  Here are some more potential winners this week:

Bubba Watson, John Merrick, Lee Westwood, and Marc Leishman.  Bubba being the only one I’m truly nervous about in A Group.

Dustin Johnson, Hideki Matsuyama, Jordan Speith, Jim Furyk, Keegan Bradley, Justin Rose, and … Morgan Hoffmann in B Group. The biggest threats here are Dustin Johnson, Jim Furyk, and Justin Rose.  (Rose is a bit of an unknown this week because of tendinitis in his shoulder.  Supposedly he is in perfect health, but I’d like to see him play once or twice before I start picking him.)

Harris English, Pat Perez, KJ Choi, and Louis Oosthuizen in C Group.  Really only English scares me here.

Good Luck!

2014 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am Weather

I just wanted to post an update, since the courses aren’t quite playing the way I expected.  It is looking like MPCC is currently playing the easiest and Pebble Beach is currently the most difficult of the three courses. Heavy rain has caused soft slow conditions and MPCC seems to be benefiting from this the most. Those playing MPCC and those with early tee times tomorrow should have the opportunity to shoot some low scores. Obviously this is rough speculation, but I believe it is worth considering.

Good Luck!

2014 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am Yahoo Picks

The AT&T Pro-Am is always a fun week and provides some interesting challenges for Yahoo Fantasy Golf enthusiasts.  Once again they are playing on multiple courses.  Pebble beach is generally the easiest of the three. (Keep in mind that the courses will be set up for the amateurs to survive the experience.) Monterrey Peninsula (MPCC) will be par 70 vs. the other courses being par 72. Spyglass is the most difficult course of the three. My advice is to manage your players each day by choosing golfers that are playing Pebble Beach.  Try to avoid Spyglass and MPCC.  However, don’t jump through too many hoops as the golfer that wins this week will have a good score on every course.  Also, certain golfers play MPCC and Spyglass very well.  So a bit of research will help.  Also, choosing golfers that start on different courses will guarantee that you can avoid MPCC or Spyglass as necessary.  Then again, a hot hand is a hot hand, and the courses may not matter.  Brent Snedeker was -4 on every course through the first three days last year and won with a final round of 65 on Pebble Beach.  So don’t over think it.

Here are my picks this week:

A Group

Patrick Reed and Kevin Stadler

B Group

Jason Day, Dustin Johnson, Chris Kirk, and Hunter Mahan

C Group

Jimmy Walker and Kevin Na

Possible winners that aren’t in my picks:

Brent Snedeker, Phil Mickelson, Jordan Spieth, Robert Garrigus, Jim Furyk, Ryam Palmer, Pat Perez, Charlie Hoffman, Matt Jones, and Graeme McDowell.

Good Luck!

2014 Waste Management Phoenix Open Yahoo Picks

Its always a fun week at the Phoenix Open. Lots of new faces performing well and making picks more difficult. I’m letting past performance color my choices this week and heading a bit off the beaten path. However, I firmly believe my picks are solid.

A Group

Gary Woodland and Bubba Watson

B Group

Billy Horschel, Bill Haas, Keegan Bradley, and Matt Every

C Group

Ryan Palmer and K.J. Choi

Popular picks this week are going to be Chris Kirk, Webb Simpson, Phil Mickelson, Hunter Mahan, Marc Leishman, and Graham Delaet.

I also like, Ryan Moore, Harris English, and Charlie Hoffman.

Golfers I’m afraid of because I didn’t pick them:

Hunter Mahan, Webb Simpson, and Phil Mickelson.

Good luck!
